How long do penalty points count against me for insurance purposes?

During 2005 I had two NIPs adding up to six points. One has dropped off in March this year and another will drop off in November this year. Will they still count against me regarding my insurance renewal?

You can have them removed from your licence after four years (although they only count for three years) but the effect is largely cosmetic as they still must be declared for insurance purposes for five years. If you fail to declare them your insurer may well refuse to indemnify you in the event of an accident for non-disclosure of a "material fact".
