I only have a provisional licence and was caught speeding. I have to produce my papers at the police station. What will happen to me when they find out I only have a provisional licence?
I just hold a provisional licence and the other day I took my car for a spin and got caught speeding doing 48mph in a 30mph zone. I got an on the spot fine of £60 and 3 points but I didn't tell the officer that I only have a provisional licence. I have to go to the police station in the next seven days to show my licence, MOT and insurance certificate. What will happen to me when they find out that I just hold a provisional licence?
You could get summonsed for no insurance, no driving licence and the speeding offence. You will get a hefty fine and 6-8 points on your licence. They might not spot that you were on a provisional but they probably will. The points will pre-date passing your test so these points will not lead to your licence being revoked.
