Is there a law against driving in the middle lane?

by Conrad Murray last modified 2007-04-25 04:11

Is there a law against failing to drive in nearside lane. Will it be dealt with by a fixed penalty notice or can I elect to go to court on this?

There is no offence of driving in the middle lane in the UK, although arguably one could bring such a case on CD20 "driving without proper consideration for other road users".

If you have been charged on this basis I would suggest you could elect to go to court and defend against the charge which would be pushing interpretation of the law to its limit.
