Is there any liability for damage to a car that occurred on arrival at the local playing field for 'bonfire night'? The entrance to the field had some hardcore pothole filling which caused damage to a visitor's car. The fireworks event was advertised and run by the 'playing field committee' and an entrance fee was charged. Car parking was in the same field.
We can't see that the owner of the car can make a claim. It's bonfire night in a public field so unless there is a huge hole and all the cars were damaged we can't see a Judge telling whoever organised the event to pay up. The owner of the vehicle would have to produce photos and a witness or two. It could be that the driver of the vehicle was driving too fast or was a poor driver.
