Narrow road means truck needs to cross white line. Does that mean they will always be held responsible for any accident?

I operate a small fleet of trucks near the Kentish village of Seal, near Sevenoaks. At one point near the centre of the village, the road is so narrow that it is almost impossible for my drivers not to go over the centre of the road. If an accident occurs, are we always going to be liable?

Situations like this can be a very real problem.  Most head-on collisions such as the type you seem to be anticipating are actually settled on a 50/50basis unless independent witness evidence or photographs of the vehicles dictate to the contrary.  Make sure your fleet is equipped with cameras and that your drivers are motivated always to take pictures even the accident is their fault.  You are not obliged to disclose them afterwards if they are unhelpful.

Our sister site Crashguard offers several commercial schemes which provide both the cameras and instant legal advice at the roadside after any accident has occurred plus legal expenses cover afterwards. You might wish to check out their services.
