What are uninsured losses and how can I cover myself?

As a motorist what are my uninsured losses and how can I insure against them?

Uninsured losses comprises any loss not covered by your motor insurers. If you are comprehensively insured, your uninsured losses will be your policy excess, hire, loss of use, injury compensation, loss of earnings, medical treatment etc.

If you  are insured third party fire & theft, then the whole of your repairs and any storage or recovery charges will also be included.

You cannot insure your uninsured losses but you can insure the risk of incurring legal costs to recover your uninsured losses.

Crashguard is such a scheme but which offers numerous other benefits including one-call accident scene assistance and evidence gathering support.
