Dear Lucy Bonham Carter - Last June you very helpfully advised me on a PCN I’d been given, where I felt that the sign in question was unclear, and misleading. Had I not had your advice I would most likely have given in – but, reassured by what you said, I persisted… right up to seeing the Adjudicator, last Monday. He himself found the various details in the Statute less than clear, he actually went off to consult a colleague – particularly about a photo I’d taken of a similar sign in Camden, the wording of which seemed to contradict both the Statute, and what the City of London parking people were claiming. He concluded that the Camden sign was not compliant – and found in my favour… a result, as they say ! After all this story, why I’m sending you this email is to thank you for your help, which really made all the difference…and also(if I may say so) to note how encouraging it is to find a lady from so distinguished a family, involved in so decent an organisation as Law Answers. In the darkening times we’re entering, it makes me feel there is yet hope…
